Starting hourly rate: $20.75 USD per hour.Job Overview The Target Security Specialist protects guests, team members, and the brand by preventing loss, managing security incidents, and maintaining a safe environment.Key Responsibilities Use intelligence‑led tactics to keep guests and team members safe and secure.Respond to and document crisis, safety, and crowd management situations.Apply de‑escalation techniques and coordinate physical security controls.Operate Target's video surveillance system for monitoring and evidence collection.Document incidents accurately in the case management system.Assist with merchandise theft recoveries and apprehension support as needed.Prevent theft and shortage by performing merchandise receipt checks and recognizing trends.Promote a culture of physical security for team members and guests.Maintain a safe and secure environment throughout the store, including exterior property.Collaborate with store leaders and public safety officials as required.Complete any additional duties as directed by business needs.Qualifications & Requirements Minimum age of 18 years.High school diploma or equivalent.Ability to meet state or local licensing or other legal requirements for the position.Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members.Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment.Strong communication skills.Capability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong organization and workload prioritization skills.Calmness, focus, and composure in a fast‑paced environment, accomplishing multiple tasks within established timeframes.Ability to climb ladders and move merchandise up to 40 pounds safely.Flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping times.Physical ability to remain mobile and work in varying temperatures, humidity, and other conditions.Benefits Eligible team members receive comprehensive health benefits (medical, vision, dental, life insurance, and more), along with 401(k), employee discount, short‑term and long‑term disability, paid sick leave, paid holidays, and paid vacation.Equal Opportunity and Accommodations Target is committed to equal employment opportunity and offers reasonable accommodations pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act.
